We like the car, but it’s had some issues.

We picked this car for its fuel economy and comfort. It has a large fuel tank and thus less fill ups between stops/ days of driving. That being said there has been a series of frustrating hiccups. A flashing engine light that has to be addressed multiple times. If it wasn’t for the service department I’d have jumped ship before now.

Vehicle review

Haves had occasional problems where service cost was very high. Internal devices malfunction a lot. Issues include defrost blower not working, console shuts off periodically making it impossible to control climate.

Numerous Recalls

The car is a good value for the money. It’s stylish, a comfortable ride. I have a four cylinder so it does have a slow take off, but it’s great on gas mileage. I have more than Id prefer though in recalls and light bulb replacements. On the sixth recall and third round of taillights ( had to pay for the wiring harness to be replaced out of my pocket) after three years of ownership- it’s definitely a manufacturer’s defect but the company wouldn’t stand behind the failure. Had been stopped by cops twice and given warning tickets for tail lights outs. Have a flood light out now and the dealership wants to charge $140 to replace it. So the car’s mechanics/parts/construction isn’t the best.

My car is dependable and of course no issues with my car until something pertaining to my engine it cause issues for me so I brought the car to millennium Hyundai other than that I am truly satisfied.

Not happy with it lots issues

I have owned similar Hyundai Sonata 2012 before I purchased this car. I did have some issues with it but not too much. However, since I bought this car, I have been experiencing issues one after another especially the recalls. I don’t think I can buy Hyundai next time.

OK Car, but too many recalls

The car is OK, but there have been many recalls. This requires that I go to a dealer which is quite a drive away. Very inconvenient. My previous Honda did not have this problem. If there is a dealer near you, it would be a good car to buy.

Sonata

The vehicle overall is good. It would have been better if I could have ordered a power seat on the passenger side. Also, would have liked to have fog lights. I do enjoy the gas mileage. But the engine is very noisy from 0 to 20 MPH.

I'm impressed with this car everyday

They only complaints I have are very minor. Things like the fuel filler neck isn't as the proper angle so it quite often turns off the fuel pumps and you have to pump by hand. the dash lights constantly adjust according to the light outside I would prefer that they stay at their preset level when the head lights are switched on and not in daytime running mode. the LED light on the sunroof button is annoying at night. other than that I can't really complain more than enough power out of the 2 liter turbo and I consistently get above 34 miles to the gallon on freeway trips while traveling at 75 miles an hour.

Great, roomy car!

Great car! Some problems with design features. Front bumper is too low and gets scraped when parking against cement stops. Could be higher to avoid this or have front end camera. Illumination on dashboard is dim during daylight due to having dark blue lighting on a black background. White lighting is easier to see. Other than that my car runs great and gets good gas mileage. A/C is nice and cold, too! This is my third, brand new Hyundai.

2014 sonata

The car was delivered with a defective engine. I reported it immeadiately (200 mile) and was told by a different tech that it was normal. I requested that they give me a new car but the dealership declined my request. Erin was the adviser who got the car repaired. The fact that y=that they refused to give me a new car still doesn't sit right with me.

Very good car.

Dealer shopping experience was OK. Spent lot of time there. Car is fast, reliable initially. Then felt engine choking sometimes and had to be computer reset. Still happens with deceleration. Nice turbo engine, very good on highways.

Great ride

I would have given this car a 5 star rating but the passenger door is not aligned properly and this creates wind noise. This should have been part of the quality assurance process. Otherwise it is a terrific car. Fun to drive and great performance.
