Poor quality- needed another engine- Had one engine replacement and then that engine needed replaced.

Poor quality. The factory engine had to be replaced. Then later that engine had to be replaced. Not reliable. Also Hyundai Motor corporation denied covering the second engine citing it was a used engine- this is what the dealership Hyundai Mungenast put in the car. The General manager of Napleton Hyundai informed that HMC would not cover the because it was not an engine under the 953 campaign. They always found an excuse not to cover the engine replacement. Who could afford $6000.00 - $ 9000/00 out of pocket. (Munganast was the former name before Napleton took over.) Poor communication from the dealership for updates on the vehicle

Poor quality

The 2015 Sonata is no comparison to my 2006 Model. I've had 3 recalls on the car to fix faulty manufacturing/design issues. The engine is defective and has major oil consumption problems which requires expensive repeat maintenance procedures. Leather finish on the seats have already rubbed off. I am the sole driver of the vehicle I'll have to think twice about purchasing another Hyundai.

2015 Sonata

Vehicle cruise control is lousy. Smart Cruise control chooses not to work at the worst times. Garage door opener can not be programed with my opener. Responses from the dealer on these defects was pathetic.

Good car, Horrendous Gas Mileage

I have the Sonata Limited. Love the options in the car and all of the safety features. That gas mileage is atrocious and gets nowhere near what they say. I have had the car for a year and at best get 21 mpg. Awful.

Looks sporty, but is not!!!

Owned one for one year now. Great looks and tech. Terrible transmission and no performance. Harsh sounding engine, not the quietest cabin. Great fuel economy though.

Good looking lots of technology but I get terrible Gas mileage the worst out of 6 vehicles that I previously own. My wife's Honda Pilot get better gas mileage than me and her her truck is a V6

There is a serious problem with the Sonata! I am not the only one experiencing the engine cutting out while driving. Someone is going to be killed.

I had my engine cut out 2 separate times while driving. The second time I was almost rear-ended. My daughter also leased a 2015 Sonata. She experienced the same problem. I read reviews online, and it has happened to other drivers. I have had acceleration problems with the car since day 1. I had to bring my car back to the Isip location within the first week of the lease for a second key, so I asked them to run a diagnostic. I was told no "code" came up and nothing was wrong with the car. I go to the Hyundai service center in Valley Stream. They could not come up with a "code" either, but the mechanic knew I was terrified and the problem was real. At only 19 months old, I had the fuel pump in the gas tank replaced. It seems to have fixed the problem, Hyundai needs initiate a recall before someone gets killed!

2015 Hyundai Sonata

Aesthically, I love this vehicle. Perfect in every sense. Engineering wise, the downgraded from 6 cylinder to a 4 cylinder and it has seriously affected the power. For a $30K vehicle, I was really disappointed in the power acceleration and the high level of noise coming from the engine. I upgraded from a 2003 Elantra to a 2005 Sonata because of the quality and experience of vehicle. So, the trade in to a 2015 Sonata was a huge disappointment to the point within a month or 2 of purchasing vehicle, I wanted to trade it in for a different manufacturer vehicle. Hyundai really needs to look into bringing back the 6 cylinder on the Sonata. This one seriously feels overpriced and yet sooo underwhelming with power/acceleration and bad use of space.
