You get what you pay for

You get what you pay for. I paid for CarPlay and blind spot detector. Overall good car, performance and handling is ok . But build quality is 5 from 10. Mile per gallon is horrible for 2.4L engine is worst in this class . I had recall for engine software update.

My 2018 Sonata Hybrid_not very reliable

Before my 2018 Sonata Hybrid reached the first 5000 miles, the error message started showing up on the screen: "Hybrid system has a problem. Turn off the engine immediately." Car had to be towed to the dealership and they had to replace some pump. I am losing confidence in Hyundai hybrid car because this was the second time so far some part had to be replaced for the car to function properly. It might be the problem with this particular car, so should not be generalized. Our 2016 Hybrid Sonata was fine.

2018 Sonata SEL

This is my 3rd purchase from Empire Hyundai in Fall River ( 2 new myself 1 used for daughter ) my 1st purchase was great 2014 Sonata Tony Reis, great salesman .... 2nd new 2018 Sonata not as good as the 2014 ( I do miss that car ) planning on a Genesis in the future

I can’t say I would Buy Hyundai again after this vehicle we have bought 5 vehicles from Hyundai over the years but this will be my last one.. The car broke down one day due to a performance issue/recall.. The repairs to my new car took almost three months .

We purchased this car due to the features, styling, and comfort. The price was far more reasonable than comparable cars of it's class. We also enjoyed the benefit of an extremely long warranty option that Hyundai offered. This is why we were surprised when the vehicle started having problems after less than 8 months of ownership. After a recall was performed on the engine computer, the vehicle began having drivability issues and would run very poorly and even stall at times. Once we returned the vehicle to the dealer, we were informed that the engine had failed and needed replacement with only 20,000 miles on it. We dropped the vehicle off at the dealer and proceeded to wait for nearly two months for it to be repaired due to the non-availability of the replacement parts. This has severely diminished my confidence in the long term reliability of this vehicle.

Not to bad

The vehicle come with lot of feathers even the lower class but I find issues with torque and shaking when travel at a speed of 65 or more. I have had the service dept check it out and they said nothing is wrong which makes me think its an issue with the vehicle itself.

Sonata nice but seats uncomfortable

Nice design, but seats uncomfortable. No padding. Cruise control not accurate and shifts hard to catch up to speed, especially in eco mode. Rear space is good. Wheels / tires (rims) boring. Good mpg

Over all the car is what we thought it would be...it's difficult to give it a "reliability" rating this early in ownership. A CD players should be included. Owners shouldn't be forced to buy thumb drives,,,or to use their smartphones to listen to their music.

Nice ride, reliable, but not very quick

The ride quality of my 2.4L Sonata sport is impeccable and the quality has been very good thus far, but despite being billed with 185 horsepower, acceleration and overall performance leaves something to be desired. I'm no speed demon, but the car feels weak in some aspects even when compared to my wife's 2.0L (non-turbo) 147 horsepower Elantra.

Poor ergonomic engineering on center console controls layout and windshield angle

My previously owned Sonata had a better console layout that was not as dangerous when trying to adjust climate controls while driving. Also angle of windshield causes to of dash to be displayed on interior of windshield during daylights hours -,a distraction and a hazard when entering a garage since it creates a blind spot preventing the driver from seeing the interior of the garage.

hyundai sonata review

the car has been good and reliable however my husband has not been impressed at all with the quality of the steering and the front end right off the lot, i was ok with it until it got worse, then my arms got tired of holding it sideways to drive straight along with the pulling to the right. I have been very careful with this car since we got it, nothing has been hit and i am very careful with it. no reason for it to have came off the lot with it like this. the price of the car has dropped dramatically right off of the lot, i am upside down, and unable to trade the car in for another. been attempting to trade it in for 6 months, the dealer adjusted the steering column along with the front end i think....but it has started pulling to the right again and it has only been 3-4 days since i took it in and got it adjusted. Hyundai i am not too impressed with. i am just stuck with the vehicle i guess.

Engine noisy, recall for engine vibration sensor, extended engine warranty for 20,000 additional miles, not good enough for a known mfg problem. How can I feel confident this vehicle will not fail me when on the road without warning.

A new lemon

I have a 2018 Sonata,purchased brand new. I had a 2010 sonata that I was happy with and so I thought buying another would be ok. My sonata has had nothing but problems once it hit the 1 year mark.I had to have my starter replace, I have replaced 6 headlights. The light inside the passenger front is out.

May go back to a Toyota

My 2018 Hyundai Sonata in Symphony Silver is by far the most beautiful and stylish car I have ever owned, and is really fun to drive when cruising on the Atlantic City Expressway or Garden State Parkway. However it's not quite 2 years old and just had 2 recalls done. At this point I am waiting to see if the 2nd recall will deal with the intermittent hesitation which has created several extremely dangerous situations. If this recall doesn't solve the problem, I'm going back to a Toyota.

Decent Car

Overall its a decent price automobile...have had several issues with the electrical system and have had to have in the shop for a few weeks to repair!!! I do enjoy the vehicle when it's not in for repairs....great gas mileage and comfortable driving experience.

Not happy with 2018 Sonata

I feel that I was lied to when I purchased my Sonata. Salesman said several things were not on vehicle because of safety reasons. Funny because those items are on the 2019 version. My 2013 had way more amenities.

Not the car my Azera was!

Why did you discontinue the Azera? Terrible mistake. The Sonota can’t compare. Very disappointed. The Sonota is very disappointing in quality and performance compared to my previous Hyundai. Wish I could have bought a new Azera. My wife still wants her Azera back.

New car

Not my favorite car..low roof as I'm 6 ft tall and the trunk has no room to get larger goods inside. Trim inside is nice and sporty and seats are comfortable. A/C works well and plenty of room for smaller kids in the rear of the car.
