okay

Smaller than I wanted but lowest price in area. Could not afford a Lincoln or Towncar. Wanted new due to problems with used cars. Hoping that Hyundai Auto Insurance coverage would be cheaper, but not really cheap.

Unhappy with 2018 Hyundai

I wish I had kept my 2013, it has way more features that I liked. For starters, my back seat passengers, it either takes too long to cool them off or heat them up because there are no vents in the back. The salesman said that it's because of a safety issue, which was not true.

Very reliable vehicle

This is a very reliable car with good gas mileage. Interior is very comfortable and roomy. Sound system is quality. Seating is not plush and the car isn't nearly as classy a looking car as the 2015 Sonata. But overall is a good car.

Sonata

I like my Sonata. I was in the market for an Impala, but chose the Sonata because of the rebates and warranty. I am impressed by the size of the interior. It has enough "power" for me, and it is a very "pretty" car. I regret settling for the SE model, but had to do so because of my credit score. I can't wait to make timely payments so I can upgrade.

Cute & Comfortably, yet Complicated & Counter-intuitive

This car is beautiful from the outside with an extremely comfortable interior. The design of the center console is really nice. Leather steering wheel and protective seat fabric are excellent. The driver functions on the steering wheel are quickly accessible, yet difficult to understand & complicated. For example, I accidentally muted myself in phone conversations when trying to turn up the volume. The safety features such as lane assist and blind spot detection are great tools, but the beeping sounds it produces in the cabin are almost unbearable! Back up camera is nice, yet functionality is limited in rain/bad weather. Many features that made me fall in love with the car, I did not get since it added several thousands extra to the overall cost (panoramic sunroof, stronger sound system, etc). This car does NOT have a CD player which is difficult for a Musician to tolerate. There is only One port that functions with the sound system. So you can either use Android Auto or USB, if you had to waste hours of your life to put CDs or Audiobooks (in order) on a flash drive. I wish it had more USB ports working with the sound system. As a new car, many of the features are nice, but these features are extremely complicated and counter-intuitive. The car's trunk, front seats, and back seat are vary spacious, which is great. Still, great size for a beautiful, spacious car.

do not like car wanted the limited but sales person said that there were none so i was disappointed, of course the salesperson was let go right after I bought the car. i wanted tlimited as it is a much better car

Good car but 100% satifised

Design of front line is bad compared to model before 2017. And, I felt uncomfortable when I reduced the speed from higher speed to 30 mile/h. I felt something quickly stopping and shaked a car little bit.

Little upset about it not having CD player, warm seating, driver and passenger control for temperature, but overall it's a good car. I liked the features in the 2016 sonata that I had before better than the 2018

Transmission is Junk

The Hyundai dual clutch transmission is junk. One can feel the transmission shift through the entire car. At low speeds the shift back and forth between the first and second gear distracts all of the passengers in the vehicle. Trying to drive within a 30 mph speed limit results in the transmission down shifting a 27 mph and then shifting up at 28/29 mph. This shifting can be felt by the driver. The transmission shifts too rough. Recently a recall for an upgrade of the transmission program greatly help the problems. However owners who do not use the dealer for regular service will never know about the recall. Unless Hyundai returns to making quality vehicles as they did in their early days this will be our last Hyundai, The 2018 Sonata is our fourth Hyundai.

2018 Sonata Limited

I do not like the large Sonata letters on the rear of the vehicle. I would like a Sonata Limited with 6 cylinders. You should not tell me the minimum number of characters my review of the vehicle should be.

Love/disappointed

I love driving my sonata around but I am disappointed it breaking down in 2.5 months of have the car. I like everything about it and the safety features. Just wish Hyundai help up to a high standard..

Paint issues on Sonata

My major complaint with all four Hyundai Sonata's I have owned is the poor quality paint job on key areas of the car, mostly front and rear plastic areas. The paint does not hold up on these areas and is too thin. The least contact scrape in the plastic causes much more than one small area and could require both replacement of expensive body parts and repainting.

Nine Months Review

It was nice to have a new car but I was disappointed with the 2018 model within the first month. I realized I had made a mistake and would have been much happier if I would have kept my 2013 and dealt with the services required and any repairs.

Nothing is perfect ... but it can be improved without much extra expense.

Basically: It is wide, perfect for long trips although the seats are not very comfortable. On the road it makes good mileage, 33-34 / m. In city it is not good average 14-17 / m and in closed traffic it can do 11 / m. Definitely in town does not make good mileage. The sound system is cheap. There is a problem that engineers should consider. I mean the column to the left of the driver. There is an angle in which physical visibility is impossible. Example, leaving a road to make right on a street, if the car is at a certain angle the mirror of the door can not focus and although it is to look directly by turning the head, it happens that between the column and the protector of the head There is no way to see if a vehicle is coming. Although it can be doubled, there is no choice but to wait for the light to change.

Dashboard rattles

My dashboard is rattling a lot it is so loud that I can’t listen to my music. I had the clear plastic replaced because it had a gash on it and after they replaced it it started rattling very loud. I went for an oil change and they told me I had to make another appointment to get it looked at.

It’s ok

It’s now been about a year and I’m ready to trade it in.. I was initially PROMISED the fully loaded genesis that i saw but they couldn’t come through on their promise. So then they tried to sell me a used sonata (Rental) and charged me full price but eventually got and SE again not what I wanted but it’s all good. Don’t think I’ll ever go Hyundai again.

More features but material used is going backward

I had a 2014 Sonata leased for 3 years and I wanted to get another Sonata. I got compliments on the 2014 model on how comfortable it was and how nice it looks. I didn't test drive the 2018 Sonata for I trust the car, I had my husband to test drive and he told the car was much more solid and drives better than the 2014's. So we made our decision. CONS:The steering wheel was not comfortable to drive and that's my biggest complain! It feels rough to tough, the stitches on the steering wheel is so roughly made. The material used feels slippery yet rough to feel. I honestly don't know how to describe the feeling but feels like some cardboard paper or construction paper. I have to learn to drive differently so my fingers dont get hurt by the stitches. The signal light control is also very roughly made. I have never gotten a car and hate the steering wheel so much. Other than that, the engine is making noise while not moving, it is so shaky and loud that is so embarrassing to drive as a new car. I think these are all cosmetic problems. Another big problem is the cargo net is not built-in. You cannot just get a cargo net and hook inside the trunk. You must pay someone to drill holes inside the trunk. The dealer was gonna charge me $65 to do that when I brought in my cargo net. I said no and returned the net. PROS: As a small female drive, I like the powder seat and how comfortable and easy to drive. The steering wheel although is rough to touch but steers very easily and goes very smooth. One touch truck button makes a life saver when you have so much groceries on your hand and all you need is to touch the logo! WOOHOO! It feels solid when you make a fast exit from the freeway. Because of that I was told I am an amazing driver. I gotta thank Hyundai and give them credit for that. Another pros I need to mention is safety warning. It is a life saver because sometimes you park between big cars it is hard to see what is coming behind you. The warning sensor will go off. Will I get another Sonata? Next time I must test drive the car myself I am just glad I learn a big lesson this year and I am stuck with the crappy steering wheel for 3 years.

Not happy with what I must go thourgh getting into and out of the driver's seat.

If I was able to do it over, I would have gone with the Santa Fe. I do not think I will keep my 2018 sanota. I would not recommend this model and I currently own 3 Hyundai's. The set into the driver's seat is a war between the high door bottom frame and the drivers control cockpit.

Little disappointed

The car has great pickup and is excellent on gas but I was very disappointed that I had the car for less than a year as a 2018 and the starter went out on it already! I purchased the vehicle because I wanted a reliable car but was very disappointed when this happened leaving me stranded.
