The Truckster

We purchased new in 2010 along with an extended warranty two years just after the loan was paid off the paint started popping off the hood, front of the roof, left rear passenger door, tail gate around the back glass and now bubbling on the left quarter panel. The customer support said nothing they could do at that time I believe the the mileage was around 49,000 miles .

Dependable smooth ride

To the best of my knowledge, never had a reoccurring problem or maintenance concern involving experience expense or need to upgrade. This is important because the car will eventually go to or be utilized by my college age daughters during Home visits. However, advancements/improvements on the Santa Fe greatly encourages me to buy another one because I know the chances of longtime satisfaction are excellent!!!

Reliable

The car is very reliable. There is not a lot of whistles and bells, but its good in bad weather and the AWD is what we bout it for. It can be serviced by any good mechanic and does not have to go back to the dealership.

Overall good car

Enjoy the car although a little noisy. Looks good from outside. Plenty of nice features inside. Had some issues with engine mount which was costly. Overall happy with it although it picks up a lot of road noise and so is less enjoyable when riding in the back.

I do a lot of long distance driving. Very reliable vehicle. I like the look of the vehicle too. It came with good standard features. I like the exterior design of the vehicle, especially the design lines - visually.

SEAT CONCERN

PASSENGER SEAT TO LOW.WIFE CAN'T SEE OUT WINDSHIELD OR SIDE WINDOWS. SHE IS NORMAL HEIGHT.SHOULD BE AT LEAST TWO INCHES HIGHER ALSO DISAPPOINTED THE MY MODEL DOES NOT HAVE A COMPASS LIKE NEXT MODEL UP.

Good engine, great visibility, better fit for driver than newer Santa Fe’s. Climate control on the fritz, keeps turning on while driving. Good acceleration. Rear passenger area limited by driver seat all the way back.

Santa Fe review

This has been a very good vehicle during the years I have owned and driven it. Very little extra service or repairs have ever been needed. Mileage is good on highway driving and adequate in city driving. The car has met my needs for reliable and comfortable transportation.

It's ok

I do like my vehicle, love the room in it. However, after a few years the seat cover does come loose at the bottom. Should have left more material to tuck under so it won't come loose as is the cloth on the door panels also. It is slow on the uptake, the luggage rack is not an open design to allow a strap to go through on the sides for a roof top carrier and I wish it rode a little smoother. It would also be nice to be able to charge phones without the vehicle needing to be running. What is with that?

The Sante Fe is a good car.

The brakes don't work well in the winter time. for some reason the brake system leaves a lot to be desired. When it gets cold is when you notice how bad the brake system is. God forbid you have to make a quick or sudden stop. The brakes sound like metal scraping the pavement and the car doesn't stop as expected, I have had to turn into the side of the road to prevent hitting the car in front of me when hitting the brakes should have stopped the car in time. This doesn't happen in the warmer months unless you have to hit your brakes hard in order not to have an accident. Then you get the metal scraping the ground sound, even if the brakes are new.

This vehicle is great it has so much room inside and very reliable.Started every time except when I had to replace the starter but it has been through the snow& Ice for 4 winters n haven't been stuck.

Lasting well past the warranties and car payments.

It keeps going and going, besides the usual tires, brakes and suspension issues, after 155,500 miles, it's still going strong. I am hoping to make it to well past 250,000 miles and plan on repairing any minor things until something major makes the decision for me.

Great vehicle, Good value and reliability

Purchased it as a driver from the dealership with a couple thousand miles on it with a new car title and warranty. Looked pretty much show room salable. This has been a great vehicle for the past 10 years. The only work in addition to regular scheduled maintenance, brakes, and fluid flushes was ball joint replacement at about 70k. If not already resolved, I would recommend that Hyundai check the paint or paint process used on poly trim pieces. Bumpers, door handles, spoiler, etc showing signs of UV deterioration at about 7 years. Clear coat blisters and peels. Keep in mind this is an indoor garage car and not exposed to harsh weather conditions in a mid west climate. Do better on the paint issues and get a 5 star rating next time.

Good Basic transportation

After stepping out of a ford explorer ltd. into a santafe ltd. is was quite an adjustment. Being a ltd. model you expect a fine quality suv. What you get is an average vehicle ,average ride, not very comfortable seating but good power. The v-6 has plenty of go and gets decent gas mileage. But as far as the whole package in a ltd. suv it comes up rather short.

Fun to drive but blind spots and interior material not bgood

Santa Fe has been good but inside arm rests are terrible. Been fairly pleased with the car but blind spots are very dangerous. Took me a while to figure them out!

Just ok

I have just 64,900 miles on my Santa fe and I feel if you look at repairs under warranty it is high. I am now am looking for a replacement - I love the warranty but i would rather have trouble free driving.

Would like new vehicle. But none available to even look at. Bought vehicle at end of season Was last vehicle on lot. Would like backup camera and sunroof. Gas mileage has never been that great. Would like it to be over 30 mpg.

Bad Trans

The car overall is good. But I'm on my third transmission since buying the car brand new. The first time it went with under 1000 miles on it and was less than a month old. It makes me not trust the car will hold out for the long run. Otherwise, the warranty services were great to get the car fixed. I feel like it did not come with some of the options that other cars have standard such as electric seat adjustments.

Problematic Power Train

This car experiences power train defects which affect 2010 Santa Fe AWD's. The car "hard shifts at 15 mph and the dealer has yet to find a cause. Lately, the AWD coupler failed at 66,000, like most 2010, 2011, and 2012 AWD SE's, if you believe those posting on the Hyundai Users Forum. It's no wonder that Hyundai offers a 10 year, 100,000 mile power train warranty. Strange that the dealer did not have this part in stock, necessitating a second 2 hour round trip.
