Car has never run right since new
This car is my first and last Ford. It's the Focus ST. It's supposed to make about 250 hp, but I don't think it makes anywhere near that most of the time. I got it new. Sometimes it's very powerful like it's supposed to be. But most of the time it is sluggish. It has enough power to go safely down the road, but it's supposed to be an exciting car. If I wanted something with just average power I would have gotten something with better gas mileage.
It also has a tendency to stumble and die when starting from a stop. Ford wasn't able to fix it either problem when it was under warranty. I think they didn't really even try.
Part of my problem with the car is the Ford dealers. Their service departments seemed incompetent or unwilling to do anything other than basic maintenance.
There is also a piece of windshield trim that fell off Ford replaced it under warranty, but shortly after the warranty was up it fell off again. I paid Ford to replace it again and it fell off a third time. Now I just drive around with the trim piece missing.
Another quality issue is the door speakers. They cause rattling in the doors whenever there is little bit of bass. It's extremely annoying.
The front suspension makes a loud clunking sound over bumps too. It has done this since new. And again the dealership could never do anything about it. "They all do that" apparently.
I can't wait until auto makers can start producing sufficient inventory again so I can offload this thing and get something from a better brand.
TL;DR: I'm very disappointed with this car and with Ford in general. Can't wait to get rid of it.
