Azera Limited 2009 - First axles (2 years ago) now Control Arms gone bad @ 62,600 miles!

The Petaluma Hyundai service group meet an owner's expectations. However the surprise report that my 2009 Azera @ 62,600 miles needs new upper and lower control arms on both left and right wheels which they said is not covered by warranty was a disappointing report. Quoted at $2,200.00 (roughly halve the trade-in value stunned me. Just two years ago both front axles were replaced under warranty. Note I drive mostly around town or on the freeway and as a senior citizen I am a reasonable driver. Apparently Korean steel has been recycled too many times or the process is faulty. My last car, a Lexus LS400, at 100,000 needed struts but that is reasonable. Japanese steel must be of a better grade. Cannot see myself owning another Hyundai after this experience. Now, do I pay half the trade-in value for repairs and pray no other expensive components go bad?

Love the car for it's ride and handling performance. The seats should have been made longer for long trips.

So far I have not had any major problems with the car. The ride and handling is great. Everything in the car is very accessible to get to. As I mentioned before the only drawback are that that the seats should have been made longer for comfort.

Very reliable vehicle

When we bought the Azera we weren't sure of it's reliability. We have over 100,000 miles and it still runs as well as it did when new . Gas mileage is not great but acceptable. Only replaced an alternator, tires and now front brakes.

Azera is excellent car!

This car is extremely nice, the interior area is so comfortable, reliable, very good performance and runs pretty well in the highway, I bought it new and it was the best decision, is very nice and I love it!

Excellent automobile......

Our 2009 Azera is serving us well. We plan to keep it for a few more years since it is used mainly in Naples. Maintenance is very important and Tamiami Hyundai takes good care of it. We appreciate the transportation offered while the car in being serviced. It is a bonus to have the car washed at the end!

My Azera

This is a great car!! I get whatever is needed done at certain mileage. I have never had problems with this car. My first was totaled in a flood. I am over 100,000 miles. Planning to keep the car for a while. Mine is a 2009. I LOVE the power!

I love my Azera. It handles well. Only 2 minor recalls. Almost 10 years old and I have no reason to sell or trade-in. I am so sorry to hear they are discontinuing this model. Very comfortable to drive or ride as a passenger.

Best car I ever owned with the least amount of problems

The seats could be several inches longer to fit under the knee, especially for a taller person. My problem is I have long legs and when driving on a long trip at times could be uncomfortable. I understand that the newer models do have longer seats

Best car I ever owned with the least amount of problems

The only problem I find is that the seats should have been made a little longer under the knee to accomadate for those of us with long legs. So far I find no problems with the car as I have only 11,000 miles on it

2009 Azera

This is the only car I have ever owned that I am still in love with. There have been some very impressive vehicles in my past, Porche, Lincoln, Cadillac, VW, Buick,Thunderbird convertible and others. This is my very favorite, and it is the one I have kept the longest. Last year I looked as some of the newer models of Azera, when I test drove it I felt it was not as comfortable as this one. So, I still have it.

Best car for your money.

Best car and investment I have ever made, period. Nothing has broken, normal maintenance, cheap to fix (since it's not an Audi) and drives like a dream. The stereo couldn't be better and I couldn't be happier driving it every day. At 30,000 dollars brand new, I bought it for 5,600 with 150,000 miles and it gets closer to 200,000 miles very soon. It still handles like a new car and has never left me stranded. Beautiful inside and out, very elegant design and comfortable seats especially with the lumbar support. I feel dumb paying 2,000 for so many cars that only lasted a year or more. I plan to drive this car as long as I possibly can. Too bad they don't build it anymore.

Good Family Sedan

This is a really god sedan in almost every aspect, It has a lot of power. It has a really good ride on most roads and comes with a lot of standard features that most other cars only provide in the form of options or upgrades. That said, I do have a few issues with this car, such as excessive road noise, somewhat harsh ride on bumpy roads. Finally, I dislike the lack of daytime running lights. I understand that all of these issues have been addressed in the newer models.If so, I'd give this car a 5 star rating.

Low maintenance luxery.

Love my 2009 Azera which I purchased used in 2015. The interior leather looks nice and is easy to care for. The heated seats are great in winter. It has never failed to start in even the coldest weather. It drives very smooth and quiet so I sometimes feel like I am going too slow but will see that I am actually driving too fast. The cruise control is my friend and has helped me avoid many tickets. There is no rust evident anywhere and this car is 9 years old. It only has 82000 miles on it so that could account for why I have had no major issues, just normal maintenance stuff. I am very pleased to own this car and hope to drive it several more years.

About car

I love my car. It is very comfortable. It gets very good gas mileage. It has a sunroof, heated seats, a shade that go up and down on the back window. Outside mirrors that can be switched to close in next to car so you can get closer to mailboxes and drive thrus. Stereo system that has navigation and several other features and of course cruise control and dual controls on the air conditioning and heating and also a control vent for the back seat and a very large trunk. So all in all with everything I wanted in a car. This car is fantastic

Hyundai azera

I am glad we chose to buy the azera, the features that came with it are amazing. I love the way it handles even in the snow and rain. I have had it for many years and have not had any issues with it other than normal wear and tear. My cousin bought an azera also and loves hers too.i would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Love It. Great Choice.

Chris worked with my budget and recommended the Azera. He had others however did not pressure me in anyway. No hard sell. Left it all to me. I made the best decision and he later told me he was also pulling for me to get the Azera. Drives like a dream, great on gas, comfortable and I am so happy with it.

My experience at the Hyundai Service Department

My experience at the Hyundai Service Department was good. The service staff was eager to get you in on time. They were knowledgeable and friendly. I was there because of a recall. It was taken care of in reasonable amount of time. I will schedule a oil change, some time month.
