Robust practical and still not outdated looking in 2017
I have been beating up my 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe limited for 4 years, I'm the second owner, bought it with 73k and it's at 120k now still going strong. I work construction so my rear seats are almost always folded down and the back is usually packed with tools and equipment. Buffalo ny winters are often perilous for driving, yet I have always been able to count on the awd SUV to get me safely to and from work for years, my interior is a bit torn up at this point, the leather is not as good as it was in my 05 limited Santa Fe, and I have occasional fuel sensor issues like many other people with 07-2012 Santa Fe, I'm surprised there hasn't been a recall on that. Still no rust on my vehicle despite the heavy salt on the roads every winter. Roof rack is great for hauling my ladders and kayaks. I think I need a pickup truck now but my Santa Fe has been great during my growth as a contractor. I only drive using the + and - electronic shifting feature to get the best fuel economy or acceleration depending on my road situation. That feature also makes driving on slippery roads much safer because I downshift to slow down instead of slamming the brakes, I rarely ever slide out unless I'm doing it on purpose in a parking lot. More horsepower would be nice. My biggest problem with this vehicle is that it has depreciated faster than I could pay it off. And also the cd changer gets jammed every once in a while and I'm sick of taking it apart to get the cds out so I just live with not being able to use the CD player anymore.
