not impressed

I have had a number of issues with this car. Do not like the touchy gas peddle, sits to high, hard to get in, and had to have two wheel censers replaced with only 42000. miles. I believe my next car we will be going back to a Ford.

Repairs

For a 2012 vehicle have had many problems. Have had idler pulley, alternator, oil sending switch and ball joint fixed in the last year. The vehicle has only 79000 miles. I like the vehicle but I'm always thinking what's next.

Santa Fe 2012

GPS doesn’t work!!!?$2,400 to repair. Rust around the filler for gas area.? Don’t think the rust should have happened. And I can’t believe that I need a new GPS. The maintenance was right on time and the vehicle was only drove in town. And exterior was waxed multiple times.

Bummed

The repair to a flap on bank one of the manifold intake was SUPER expensive. My mother had a Santa Fe 4 years older no check engine light EVER. This is my third check engine light and I replaced 2 sensors already. So I wonder if mine was on the assembly line the day after the company holiday party or something. The first 2 years I owned it I loved it.

I just love my 2012 Sante Fe

In the 2012 model the seats should be made with all fabric instead of vinyl siding. I like the heated seats. The car is really reliable . I would like to purchase a newer model Hyundia Sante Fe in the near future.

Too many repairs

Since owning the vehicle 2015. I have had quite a few repairs and replacements done. I have sunk some money into this certified vehicle....thank goodness we bought extra insurance because the cost would be much higher... doesn't appear that the vehicle was really looked over very well. We had it less than a month when something went wrong.

Vehicle Review for 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe

I really like my vehicle. Everything is to my liking except for 3 important items. First, the road noise is terrible. I expected better. It really drowns out my music and discussions, etc. Second, I'm disappointed with the ride quality. It could be smoother. Third, the MPG isnt nearly as good as what was indicated when I bought it. Other than that, I definitely like the vehicle and the service you offer.

front wheel drive verses all wheel drive

My previous Santa Fe was all wheel drive and when I purchased this one, I opted for a less expensive model. I thought it wouldn't make a big difference in how it handled in Winter weather, but I was wrong. I need to go back to an all wheel drive car.

Frustrating SUV

If I would have know Hyundai Santa Fe was going to give me nothing but alternator issues, I would have never purchased it. I’ve had issues, after issues for 8 straight months that no one, including Hyundai dealership could figure out why my ESC and DBC lights would constantly come on. Apparently it’s an issue other Santa Fe owners have/are experiencing and no Hyundai dealership can figure out the problem. Not a good look, Hyundai.

Owner for 9 years

We have had a number of repairs since passing 60k. The radiator, abs sensor, alternator and the paint doesn't hold up well against chips. The warranty however is good but only to 5 years for general issues. Everything seemed to break after that. The car is noisy on the highway too.

3 + years and still enjoying the ride.

We have owned a wide variety of vehicles and the Santa Fe has been equal to all of them. The value for money is still evident. The car rides very comfortably and is a great highway cruiser returning 25/27 mpg even when carrying a lot of stuff. We have had a couple of items that needed attention but nothing that has kept the vehicle off the road, each item was handled under warranty while in for routine service. This car replaced a pickup and I have been surprised at how much I can haul in it. sheets of plywood, lumber, landscape materials. We actually bought the car at the end of the lease because we felt it would give us several more years of faithful service.

2012 Hyundai Santa Fe

Generally a good vehicle even w/tires gone at 43K and the Carbon Recall costing me $190. I've owned multiple Hyundais with great satisfaction but this vehicle is starting to allow dissatisfaction to creep in and lower the satisfaction.

Great Car

I love my Hyundai Santa Fe. I have had it for 3 years now and am still glad I bought it. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I have a red car with beige seats and was kind of hesitant to buy it because of that, just not a fan of light colored seats. I now realize why it's not a good idea because the drivers seat looks dirty and I was going to get seat covers but since there are air bags in the seats that wasn't a possibility. Overall there has not been any major issues. I did have a defect in the door on the inside where the leather started to wrinkle and cause a small rip but that was fixed under warranty. There is lots of room and I love the fact that in the back there is a hidden space to store packages.

Great SUV for the money

I Love my Santa Fe. Great overall price, features,comfort, drivability and style. Tight steering hugs the road. I feel safe behind the wheel. Don't like some of the plastic exterior pieces like the front grill and bumper. I've enjoyed owning one.

This is my second Sante Fe

My 1st Santa Fe I owned was a 2003, 6 cylinder, all wheel drive and I loved it. Since I retired, and couldn't spend a lot of money on a new car, in 2012, I decided to down grade to a 4 cylinder, front wheel drive car because I figured that if the weather was bad, I could just stay home. That not always being the case, I would rather have the all wheel drive. The 2003 also had a better lumbar support.

2012 Hyundai Santa Fe

I love my Santa Fe. It is roomy, drives nice, and handles well in the winter. It is a little higher than I wanted, which makes it a little difficult for my 92 year old mother to get in and out of, but I purchased running boards and Jenkins Hyundai installed them for me. They do help.

My Santa Fe

Very pleased. Size is right, no mechanical problems to date. Only complaint is the leather seats. The leather has not held up well considering the age of the car.
