2018 Santa Fe Sport

Overall nice vehicle. Could improve on fuel economy and noise of engine (loud rattling) at idle. Very expensive. We felt like we payed too much. No oil changes for life unless we went to a dealership 20-30 miles away each time. Should offer it at all dealerships.

Good mid size SUV

I needed something that I can put all my kids in. We have 5 all under the age of 13. I knew I was going to get something to seat as many people as possible, but wasn't looking for a bus. Our reliable secondary vehicle is a 2001 Suburban that will outlive us all. So, if I could only find something that seats 5, I could make it work because I can always just drive the kids around in the Suburban. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the Santa Fe seats 7. The kids have plenty of room when seated. But unloading them can be chaos. They are quick to climb the seats, rather than wait for someone to lay the mid row forward so they can exit. Then pushing the mid row back into place when everyone is seated can be difficult for a young child without adult assistance. Overall it still comfortably seats 7 and is a pleasant ride. I opted for the AWD V6 against the 2WD turbo charged 4 cylinder. The turbo's are loads of fun under light load. But lugging around the weight of 7 people seemed to me to just be more punishment for a 4 cylinder thats already being hammered by a turbo. The Santa Fe has pleasant styling inside and out. The V6 AWD is peppy in sport mode for highway driving, even with all 7 seats occupied. My only complaint would be how quiet the motor/exhaust note is. Its not necessarily a bad thing, fore a quiet motor is a healthy motor. But a little bit of a growl when you accelerate would be nice. Normal mode works good in the snow with the AWD transmission eagerly downshifting on steep grades. Normal mode, however, seems overly fond of high RPMs when accelerating. There is also an Eco mode for higher gas mileage. But from my experience, the Santa Fe still gets 26mpg under Sport Mode use on mostly highway. It feels nice and light when I'm the only occupant driving it to work. The touch screen is nice for Android auto and navigation. I can listen to my favorite podcasts on long drives and use hands free calling. The driver's seat is very comfortable. After long hours at work driving a very uncomfortable work truck for 6 to 7 hours a day, the Santa Fe is a welcome relief for the drive home. It has been reliable and comfortable. We now opt to use it for long trips with the kids rather than the Suburban. It doesn't have as much room. But it is just as comfortable and gets much better gas mileage.

THE VEHICLE IS A WONDERFUL VALUE OVERALL BUT THE INTERIOR QUALITY FALLS SHORT COMPARED TO THE COMPETITORS IN THIS SAME FIELD AND CATEGORY. SINCE I DON'T PLAN TO KEEP IT MORE THAN 2 YEARS, I'LL DECIDE THEN IF HYUNDAI HAS MADE ENOUGH INTERIOR UPGRADES TO KEEP MY BUSINESS.

Excellent styling, comfort and drivability

A comfortable, quick SUV for 5 adults and 2 children. Quiet, great styling and great ergonomics. Lots of standard features. Only drawbacks are the lack of passenger seat height adjustment and no standard modern safety features such as ACC, lane departure or automatic braking.

My new Santa Fe

Not as great as I thought it would be but I'm adjusting. I'm hoping it will last and perform as good as the Toyota we've had since 2003. The car has gotten noisier as the months have gone by, interior not holding up as well as I'd like, car is running a little hotter than it should be and that worries me.

Great Vehicle for the price

We bought our Santa Fe a year ago and we have been very pleased with our purchase. There is almost nothing that you can say negative about this vehicle. It does have some serious rear blind spots, and it's voice command system is sub-par, but other than that it is an excellent SUV. She handles well, brakes well, comfortable for long trips and all of the other electronics work excellently.

Santa Fe good all round car!

Overall, the Santa Fe is quite reliable. The ride is rougher than expected and mpg are lower than expected as well. It is a great multi purpose car. The sound and navigation systems are great. AC in the back seat could be improved.

Great Bargain Vehicle

This vehicle is a great vehicle for the money. It drives well and is fairly comfortable. It serves well for our intended purpose. I like the styling of the vehicle. My only complaints are acceleration seems a little less than adequate for the horsepower rating and the seat feeling could be a tad better.

Good value

We are very pleased with Santa Fe. Some issues such as broken center console, some squeeks and an updated navigation system would make it an excellent SUV though. Good power and handling. Not as roomy as other SUVs in the segment.

Welcome Surprise After Researching Over 35 Vehicles

This is my first non-USA based company vehicle purchase. I am very pleased with the styling, performance, pricing and warranty. After 1 year of ownership I can honestly say that this vehicle (2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport - AWD - Value Edition - Pearl White - 2.4L) has been a pleasure and has not disappointed. If you are looking for 0-60 in 5 seconds or 25 mpg city fuel economy, go elsewhere; if you want a good vehicle for the money with plenty of options and understand what you are purchasing upfront then this vehicle could be the one. Don't complain after the fact. There are plenty of reviews to state the positives and negatives. Do your research first and then buy. Gas mileage over this first year is at 22.7 average and that is calculating the old fashioned way and not using the computer so miles driven divided by gallons used = mpg. I probably do 55% City, 35% highway and 10% interstate driving.

My Santa Fe Sport

I love most of the features of my car. The driving comfort, infotainment, seating, cargo room, styling and cabin room are quite good. My main complaint is that the gas mileage is fair at best. My previous car was a Honda CRV, and the gas mileage was superior. I don't understand why Hyundai cannot compete with Honda for better mileage.

I went from a GMC to a sante fe .That was the best decision I could had made ,a much better drive .GMC stayed in the repair shop more then I got to drive it .I love my SANTE FE must drive one today get out and go get one .

Have had this vehicle for a year. We have taken a number of long distance road trips. Its performance has been excellent. My only complaint would be the interior noise when on the highway at 65-70 miles an hour.
