Toyota Tacoma 2005

Reliable and economical on gas 23.5mpg average. Transmission is very noisy, it spoils radio listening above 45mph, and front u joint failed at 104000 miles costing $270 to replace. Toyota issued a directive on this, but too late for my vehicle's failure and repair. Antenna has failed twice, broke off due to corrosion in humid Florida I suppose. I replaced it after the second time with a very inexpensive after market anttenna and turned a fitting on my lather threaded to the stub on the vehicle and the new antenna base. This has so far lasted a year without failure. The vehicle would be better with a windshield antenna like cars have instead of a whip which gets hit by branches on trees along the roadside and played with by ??? in parking lots. The inside rear view nmitrror is loose and vibrations can move it, Toyota service says it cannot be tightened, anther detail poorly engineered.

Tacoma

I bought a 2005 Tacoma that was in great shape. Nate McCall was an awesome sales person and Billy Hammel was a big help as well. They made the process pleasant, which is not a word I would normally use when purchasing a car. It's my second purchase from Capitol, I'll be back.

2005 Tacoma Frame Rust

Tacoma is known for having a problem in this area and even extended their warranty for years. However, Toyota fails to actively help customer identify the problem so that the customer knows it should be fixed. I took my Tacoma in for repair twice and Toyota did not tell me it was a problem. Then, recently I took it in for a safety inspection and they failed it due to too much rust. When I challenged Toyota, they told me I didn’t have it fixed in the allotted time, and they wouldn’t cover the repair needed. Big win for Toyota to get around their problem.

Great Truck

Purchase new in 2005. It is my service truck and is always carrying lots of tools and supplies for various pianos. My job as a Piano Technician is made much easier with this truck. My service area if from S end of Seattle to Tumwater to the Foot of the Mountain and this truck, or any of the 5 Toyota's I leased prior to this, have let me down when I was out in the field. My wife's 2011 RAV4 and my truck are great running and very dependable. Had a 156,000 on my Pre-Runner before I had to have the brakes done. Can't beat that.

2005 Tacoma Access Cab

I love my TodI !!

Lady and her truck

I bought my Tocoma Prerunner new 11 years ago. It is the perfect Tripura for this 70-something woods dweller. Apart from body parts being snatched by trees, I have enjoyed many trips and I think I have conquered the mice in the AC issue. But that would be something Toyota should invest some time in. Rodent excluders . It costs a fortune to remove nests and dead baby mice.

Toyota Tacoma review

My 2005 Toyota Tacoma is the best vehicle I've ever had. It is super reliable, important to me since I travel within Arizona a lot. Only two fairly major repair jobs - front brakes at about 91,000 miles and more recently, the water pump needed replacement at about 96,000. I plan to keep this beautiful truck for a long time. The back seats fold flat, plenty of room for my dog and the pickup bed is long enough and wide enough for a twin bed mattress in case I want to camp. I LOVE my Tacoma!
