2012 Ford escape

This is the 2nd escape I've owned. I love it. Now let me say this. I dont care for the 6 speed transmission, and the escape has a design flaw in the hatch release. Ford totally blew it with the 2013 redesign! Bad move!

More Good Than Bad

I'm at 150k miles and have only needed things that were expected to ware in due time. I've always been surprised how will it does on rocky trails. Other than ground clearance, it gets me to out close to I need to go in the forest or desert.

Pretty pleased

I live the mileage I get with my Escape. I was not aware how've low I sat inside until after I purchased it. My previous car was an Explorer and I sat up higher, which I love. I don't need great pickup so th 4- cylinder was fine, but my next car will have the 6-cylinder or at least the Ecoboost. I don't it a lot of miles on my cars so I'm pretty easy to please. I would have liked to have more options but this was my first car to buy new and I could not afford anymore. I will probably never buy another brand new car.

Everything We Had Hooed Fot, . . .but:

We had purchased this car new in October 2012. The only negative comment I have is; RUST!! Rear wheel wells in particular. Not feeling alone in this problem, as 95% of these cars seem to have the same problem. It starts early, & it looks terrible. Other than this, it has been a great car. Dependable, economical to operate and, up to 2012, a very nice looking & clean styling job. We have traveled cross country in the car, & have found it to be a very comfortable car to travel long distances in. I have no immediate plans to sell this car, but would consider another Escape when & if I do. The new Escape is a much different, but appealing design & if they’ve done anything to resolve the rust issue, I would probably be a repeat customer.

Very reliable

Aside from the obvious issue of rust on the rear quarter panels (wheel wells) the only problem I have had with this vehicle were the brakes early on in it's life, which was really just more of a personal preference. The stock front brake rotors were crap and I replaced them early on (30k?).

know your car weakness

know which parts need maintenance stay on top of the axle ring bushing which may wear out after 100,000 miles. change or check trans gear box oil once a year. and your ford escape will last over 200,000 miles. I have two ford escapes and they have over 150,000 miles already.

Escape mechanically has given us great service for 140,000 miles my big complaint is the body it’s starting to rust out at the rear wheel opening moldings way too soon and I’ve seen many other models rusted in the same spot

Escape has served uswell mechanically for 140,000 miles normal wear and tear nothing nothing major a few suspension components it also gets good mileage around town 20 miles per gallon in averages 26 on the highway and except for the premature rushed were very happy with it

Good vehicle drives easily

Has been dependable thef four and half years I have owned it. Needed something to drive and forth to work mainly. It's been some longer trips and was really good,especially on my gas mileage. I have enjoyed it.

I would drive this car for the rest of my life if I could

Overall this car has been everything I could have asked it to be and more. So comfortable, reliable, and when other people ride in it I hear “wow, I forgot how nice this car is” without fail to this day. This car has moved me from apartment to apartment, city to city. It’s pulled U-Hahls with everything I owned and it’s pulled wave runners. I’ve driven back and forth between the two big cities in my state (a 200+ mile round trip) for work over the past 4 years countless times. I love the back area, having the ability to remove the back seats and fold the back into a sort of mini truck. Perfect for all my camping trips. Bought it at 78k miles 5 years ago, now at 176k. Some negatives of this car have been a few repairs. First was when I would hear a thumping noise from the front when going 40+. I can’t remember what I had to replace but it was something in the front wheel suspension area. Second was when the brake lines collapsed. Engine idles really hard and vibrates the vehicle when parked or stopped in drive. Transmission slips from time to time if not careful. Overall, I love it. I want to keep it as long as I can. If anyone has tips on how to make it last longer, let me know. It’s hard knowing I can’t drive it forever but I don’t want to think about that day just yet.

Escape

I love my Ford Escape. This is my second Escape. Gives me the confidence to drive anywhere in bad weather and gets around great in the snow. Love the heated seats in the winter, they heat up fast and are toasty warm. The backup camera & sensor's make for easy parking and backing up in a crowded parking lot. Comfortable for traveling and gets good gas mileage. Nice satellite radio and cd player that you can record your cd in seconds without having to carry and load your favorite music, also has Bluetooth compatibility. Nice GPS gets me where I need to go, especially in a non-familiar city. Love that the computer it tells me if I have a low tire or when I need to get the oil changed, and it does many other things, that's just the tip of the iceberg! Just the perfect size, not to small or to big. Even can haul my 90 lb Bernese Mt. Dog around! But can you do something about the drool? Lol!

2012 Ford Escape

This is the 2nd Ford Escape that I've owned and I wouldn't own another SUV. Great Ride & Reliability! Gas mileage is acceptable & comparable to other SUV's. Have owned a Chevy & GMC , both SUV's in the past. Ford is better than the others in both comfort & drivability. It's tougher & just is a better product all around. :)

Love my Escape!!

Great vehicle, great in the snow, love the features!!! Only improvement would be better gas mileage. I only average 25mpg

Mar 29, 2016 Escape review

Very happy with my Ford Escape. Have taken it twice on an Oregon Coast drive vacation staying overnight at KOA campgrounds along the way. I am able to fold down the seats and sleep in the vehicle which makes it most convenient.

How i like my ford

Car is excellent for me and my 3 children I just wish I had different material like leather seats my material stains even if water gets on it.

Loving this!

I love the body style, the inside was spacious, I was higher off the ground (which I love). My husband and I fit 2 bikes in the back with only partially putting down the back seats. And the cup holders! They had 4 cup holders in the center console which is extremely important to my life 'cause I carry lots of fluids. I love my new Escape but my '12 will always have a piece of my heart.
