Learning to love it and trust it.
To be honest, I bought this car because it was a good deal, but I really don't like silver paint or slippery leather seats. But now after a couple of years it has grown on me. I'm thinking of changing the seats to something firmer with cloth. As for the silver, I hardly notice it all, except when I see another silver Escape go by me, and realize what a nice looking car it is. I think the silver hides the dirt pretty good, Is that why it is so popular?
I drive it everyday 100 miles round trip. I drive absolutely as fast as possible, and have come to count on this little Escape that is wracking up the miles. It doesn't matter how fast I drive, because I average around 25 MPG a tank. Round trip from Plymouth to Boston and back home again is always pretty close to 5 gallons.
The only real wear I've found is that the drivers seat is breaking down. But I've had every Ford I ever owned had weak seats. I'm just surprised this one started going bad earlier than most, around 70,000 miles.
