2013 Ford Escape has been a GREAT car

Bought with 12,000 miles on it in 2013. Outside of batteries and tires, haven't put any other money into it. At 89,000 miles & 10 years, had to replace a heated O2 sensor at an overall cost of $ 450 including parts and labor. A great height for older folks to get in and out of, and this car had the turbo boost ECO engine. Reasonable acceleration, even at 70 mph. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat IF the newer Escapes were as peppy as this 2013. Have driven some 2021 Escapes and they are anemic in acceleration.

Pleased with Escape

Purchased in 2016 as a used vehicle. Very pleased. Any repairs have been just been routine Or maintenance. Great size for 1 person or small family. Would consider purchasing again as far as dependability.

utilitarian and fun

I purchased this vehicle from my former employer after they retired it as a service vehicle. It has 213,000 miles and still runs like a top. As the former owner of a Jaguar X type I can tell you that this car was every bit as much fun to drive but cheaper to maintain! Automatic 4 wheel drive has never let me down in the winter and handels like it's on rails with just a little tap on the accelerator.

Good car

For a small vehicle it has a roomy interior. I'm 6'3" and I surprisingly fit just fine. The controls are easy to navigate and the handling and ride of the car is nice. Its quiet inside while driving which is a plus for a small car. The only thing that I can tell that I wish it had, was more storage compartments. The reverse camera is ok but the screen in the vehicle is in the rear view mirror which is hard to see or tell what you're looking at. The moon roof is nice and the electric shade is a great touch. I've already injoyed the electric lift hatch. Nice when your arms are full.

Forced into Ford but.....

When my 7th Subaru 5-speed died I was forced to make a difficult decision to switch to a Ford from local dealer. I was skeptical and it was a difficult transition. Moving to an SUV type automatic was not where I wanted to go BUT one year later and I could not be happier! Ford Escape seems reliable and is in great condition at 60,000+ miles & a 2013! While I still get a little sentimental about Subarus and don't believe my Ford will rack up 200,000+ miles like they did.....I'd buy another in a ❤️ beat!

Ford experience

My husband and I were definitely not Ford people until we saw our 3013 Escape at Gronski's family dealership. Very sharp looking with many modern features and we absolutely love it! It feels so wonderful having a reliable vehicle! I can honestly say I would recommend a Ford Escape anytime to anyone!

2013 Ford Escape Titanium

I was never a Ford guy myself. But my wife wanted this car so we bought one. It was the first new body style change with the foot activation lift gate. Surprisingly, even with all the recalls, this car has been a trooper! I run this car fast and hard, also surprising, and it performs quite well I have to say. I've had body issues but never needed anything for the engine even once!! 5 yrs later this car still going strong like new, and yes, I still drive it like there's no tmrw! Overall, at least for the titanium version, I can attest that this cars performance has never let me down! Now, the 19" tires are pricey compared with the now 18" tires they changed to. A door is stuck which drives me crazy, but mostly, i cant complain about yhe car much, just the services at Ford is what issues I've run into on many occasions and the main reason I will not be buying another Ford. I also would Never buy the lower version SE model 1.6L engine which is plagued with recalls. Titanium or bust!

GREAT , FUN CAR TO DRIVE. VERY COMFORTABLE FOR LONG DISTANCE DRIVING

GREAT STYLE CAN BE NICELY EQUIPTED WITH ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES. VERY GOOD GAS MILAGE AND PEPPY FOR A 4 CYL. 2.0 ECO BOOST ENGINE. ROOMY TO GO SHOPPING WITH. NICE VEHICLE STYLING INSIDE AND OUT PUT IT ON YOUR WISH LIST.

Good product

Excellent ride but too many safety recalls. Plenty of room and comfort. Smooth ride but when replacing tires steer clear of goodyear because of noise level from tires. Power is great with the ecoboost . Leg and head room are great.

2013 Was A Very Bad Year

Apparently 2013 was not a good year for the Escape. However, I will not lose confidence in the product. We have been driving Ford Explorers for years (at least 16) and have had no problems. This is our first Escape and I will replace it with a newer model as it has many features that I like. Easy to drive, comfortable seats, ideal for my height, visibility.

2013 Ford Escape thoughts

We purchased our 2013 Ford Escape SEL 2.0 Turbo in 2013, but with 12,500 miles on it. It was a former rental car. The car has been extremely reliable, the few Ford re-calls have been promptly taken care of at the Ford garage where we bought the car. Currently at around 76,000 miles on the car. If I had a complaint, it would be that even with new shocks/struts, the ride on other than very smooth roads isn't the smoothest, but my other car is a 2011 Lexus ES350, which rides like a dream, so perhaps I'm not being fair?? Consumer Reports says the 2013 Ford Escape has poor reliability...but I'd have to TOTALLY DISAGREE... we've had great luck with the car, it still gives 27 mpg at 65 mph. The turbo-charger makes it fairly strong from an acceleration perspective.

Eco Boost poor MPG

Our 2013 Ford Escape with the eco boost does not get the advertised MPG. We average 24.5 MPG mostly highway. The best highway mileage we have ever got has been 27.7 MPG and that was measured on a straight Interstate run from gas station to gas station. yes we hand figured the millage. The computer was pretty close also within .1 to .2 of the hand figured millage. Overall the the care has been great except for the MPG. If you buy one don't waste your money on the eco boost. It is not worth the extra upcharge.

Gas tank is too small. Cannot go from St. Louis to Chicago on a full tank of gas.
