Good, albeit a tad pricey.
Pictures don't do the styling justice. It actually looks far better in person. It's pretty full of good features that you'd want in 2021 but it doesn't enough ground to net a full 5 star rating. If you're looking for a hybrid with a luxury feel you'd be forgiven thinking this will do the trick. It has all the look and advertising of what you want. Were you looking at a Tesla or EV but fell short on the price tag? This promises to have what you're looking for, and if you're okay with sub-40 MPGs then you can pretty much stop there. But this is 2021, and 40 MPGs are everywhere so why settle? That's the dilemma you run into here. After over 600 miles I have only had a handful of trips that were in the 40 MPG range and overall, over the course of this new car's life, it's still middling around the 30 MPG area. If you're a non-aggressive driver who is always in ECO mode, why is this happening? Maybe because the 47MPG that's touted on this car is only done by those who drive it like a golf cart? I couldn't tell you, unless it somehow becomes far better this really isn't the proper price point for a hybrid. An 11 year old Prius was pulling better MPGs at the end of it's life span than a brand new Hyundai. That's not good news. If you compare this to my 2015 Honda Civic you'll find slightly better MPG.... slightly. And better interior with more potential for quickness. But nothing so great that it warrants a $10,000 higher price point. Pricing this car at anything under $29k would probably be perfect. As it stands the more you examine the little features the more you find yourself paying just to pay. It feels like it's got quality and a solid build but you also feel like you paid more than you REALLY should have. Thankfully it's so so high that there's a level of buyer's remorse but I do find myself asking for more than what's offered. However, it's not that I need more features, it's just that I want there to be more expanded use or ease of use of the included features. Hyundai hasn't offered a "bad" car, but it sure feels like they left things on the cutting room floor and have tricked you into giving them more money that what's actually deserved.
