I have owned three Hyundai's, 1 Sonata and 2 Elantra's. My current Elantra is the best of the three. I love the lines, the color and the performance.

Service and DCT Issues

My first car was manual transmission and I have owned multiple. After purchasing and driving this car for a short period, I noticed the transmission does not shift consistently and the clutch was slipping when starting from a stop and also when switching from 4th to 5th gear intermittently but frequently, no matter which driving mode I was in. I set up a service call with the dealer for them to check it out. After they checked it out, they told me they were unable to reproduce the issue and that the transmission is state of the art and it would give alerts if there was an issue, which I took this as saying I don't know what I'm talking about. If I was in a car with someone driving a manual and they shifted the way this car does, I would assume they are still learning. I do have extended warranty so I was not in too much of a rush to get it resolved, but I will be scheduling another appointment and hopefully they will be able to 'reproduce' the issue that is constantly happening, even without the 'state of the art' transmission giving error codes. The exterior of the car looks great, stylish and sporty. The technology is not great. The infotainment system is slow and laggy. I have received multiple notifications recently saying there will be an update over the next few days, but it has been a month so far without updates. The car I traded in when purchasing this car was a 2007 Lexus (16 years older), had more advanced/stable technology with the exception of lane assist and android auto/carplay, which did not exist at the time. On the lane assist, it will randomly lose the lane and just turn off, with the only alert being a flashing light on the dashboard until if finds the lane again. It also likes to swerve back and fourth in the lane, so you end up just fighting against it to stay in the center of the lane.

Iv had this car for two, almost three years now and no problems so far *knock on wood*. I received a lot of compliments from the exterior and interior of the vehicle and has been a pleasure to drive around!

Great car for the Price

The car has been great, I’ve had no problems with the performance and the technology is great to use. It’s extremely great for the price. I do however think the software is slow on the infotainment and the interior build material feel a bit cheap.

1st time owner of Hyundai

Overall the car is ok. Great warranty, remote start is a bonus, its quiet. Beautiful blue color. The car was expensive, dealer never told me the loan is 6 years, tough to get service appointment.

Vehicle very basic. It doesn’t lock from the inside when exiting the vehicle. It doesn’t have cup holders or air vents in the rear. No safety locks or window lock. Not good on gas

Good gas milage terrible ride

To start off the gas milage is great around 43.6 per gallon. The interior front seats are some of the most uncomfortable seats I've ever ridden in. The large bar they added to the passenger side of the center console the runs the entire length of the console is in my opinion the dumbest placement for a bar. The drink holders are to me way to close together a couple of 32 oz drinks is the biggest you want to go because getting one out they are so close together you have an extremely hard time getting one out. The ac system it's sad to say my 2019 truck has a better ac system then this car and it's been that way since the day of purchase. The ac works don't get me wrong but on high compared to my truck you can tell a great difference. The center console rattles been that day since day one why because of the dumb place bar I talked about earlier the passenger 6/10 times getting in vehicle usually hits it due to dumb placement.

Cost too much

For a mid size vehicle it is good on gas but it needs more room inside and more options for the price. It's a good car but the comfort level could be better.

2023 Elantra

Our Elantra was involved in an accident. The air bags did not go off and should have. It was broad sided and crumpled like paper. It was a total loss. It was not our fault. Working with GAP is not easy through Hyundai. I have had other cars that were in accidents not our fault and GAP was easy to work with.
