Luxury features without the luxury price
When shopping for a new car, I looked at Toyota, Honda, and Hyundai. This model has many features that the baseline model of those other brands don't even have. Maybe I'm gushing over features that are standard in other new cars, but I love the adaptive cruise control as well as the lane assist. My husband tends to look around a lot while driving (mostly looking for wildlife in our rural area), and the reminder that he's drifting out of our lane is a Godsend to me! The back-up camera is very accurate (unlike my previous Toyota RAV4). I appreciate the blind spot warnings. I know a lot of cars have warnings for objects to the side, but this one also sounds a warning when something is behind me (like a person walking behind me in a parking lot).
I feel like my Tucson has a great value at a much lower price than the others. This is my 3rd Hyundai, and I have never had a single problem with any of them. The warranty is outstanding.
I appreciated that I had the choice for cloth seats. At this trim line, most other brands don't offer fabric. After having several cars with leather, I think it is over-hyped. Maybe if I had little kids that spill liquids, I'd want leather for the easier cleanup. But I find leather to be cold, and shows wear faster than cloth.
The "cons" are relatively minor, but I thought I'd bring them up anyway. The rear wiper is in a weird configuration. It is mounted at the top of the window; I don't think it wipes as large an area as one mounted at the bottom. I don't like that the auto-shut off (for idling) defaults to "on". I don't like the pause that occurs when I push the gas pedal. I assume it is to reduce air pollution. But we don't all live in crowded cities - I live in a rural area where air pollution isn't a concern. So I wish I had the option to turn that feature off. My car's handle lock/unlock feature has been unreliable of late - which I intend to mention to the dealership. I also wish the car would lock automatically if I walk away. I understand that the car would need to be shut off, and that the key is not inside the car, but that would be an amazing feature that is found on other cars. I also wouldn't mind if the tone that confirms the car is locked was louder. It would also be nice to have adjustable lumbar support as well as heated rear seats. Of course, those features may be available in a higher trim line.
