Love my car.

I have had my car since 2008 and I haven't had any problems with it other than a few recalls. It's roomy and comfortable and I love driving it.

great vehicle

Our '08 toyota highlander we purchased new and only had to take it in for service due to minor repairs needed. It did have an oil line leak that caused our highlander to need a tow but since it was under recall everything was covered. We were lucky not being in hurry to get somewhere quickly or being far from home. The highlander had 177000 + miles when it was traded in.

Great choice

Replaced factory tires after only 18,000 miles. Have had one tail light burn out after 46K miles. Very reliable.

Parts start to fail after 60K

Didn't expect Toyota parts breakdown at that Low Mileage. Commercials are talking about cars running better then 100K miles without any breakdown. Must have bought a lemon with out my knowledge. Just like my Odysse at one time.

I love the Highlander, plan to buy new or newer

The car is wonderful but buy new and not used from Premier auto. I seen a lot of this particular year and model. So that's a good sign that if the car is well taken care of, it may outlast us. Do I hope one day to either be blessed by a dealership or able to trade it in and get a new one. Thank you!!

Stylish and beastly

It isn't my favorite vehicle I ever owned, but it's like family. It's hard to want to trade in. It is roomy and reliable, attractive but a workhorse on the road. MPG is not great, but it's acceptable. Drive is fine but not fun. 11 years old and holding its own!

Should have gotten this vehicle inspected by a reliable third party garage.

I didn't have it inspected by a third party. MY VERY COSTLY ERROR IN JUDGEMENT!! So far, as of the first week in November 2019, I've needed to replace the front-and-rear strut assemblies; front-and-rear suspension stabilizer bar link; automatic transmission fluid drain & refill; timing belt; water pump; cabin filter, and, for good measure, it received a tune-up with a thorough induction cleaning! NOW, all I need to do is to avoid a flat, unrepairable tire. If it MUST BE REPLACED, then I MUST REPLACE ALL FOUR TIRES! Something about AWD vehicles. This is my last AWD vehicle but, mind you, now that it's mostly repaired, I love driving it and my riders frequently mention how comfortable it is. And, yes, for the right price, it could be yours.

Almost a great vehicle

Excellent all around vehicle except for leaking sunroof drains - continuous problem that fills floors with water and worst dealer service (Scott Clark Toyota in Charlotte, NC) I've ever experienced in fifty years of buying and owning cars.

Dependable vehicle

I like my Toyota Highlander. It’s a very nice vehicle inside and out. I’m surprised that the gas mileage is so efficient. The only thing I don’t like about my Highlander is the road noise. I don’t regret buying it. It’s a very nice vehicle.

Our Highlander!

Car has been very dependable! Two minor issues since purchase; steering is not very responsive, and the brake pedal travel is too much before braking starts! Ride is great, gas mileage very good! Very pleased!

2008 Highlander

Brought this vehicle from CarMax in 2/2020 and it have had 3 major repairs on this vehicle and a full change of filters that still had 2008 filter s in different compartment that needed replace. I like the view of seating higher up in a vehicle. Yes it has lots of room inside vehicle.

2008 Highlander

We got it from a lease turn-in and I have been the primary driver. Being older I feel safe in it. I have had only minor issues with it. Two batteries replaced, the alternator replaced, the tires replaced and just recently some electrical work done. It has high mileage since I drive a lot and I want a newer one with all the bells and whistles so I may trade it in for a newer one. I have been the driver for several road trips with friends. It is roomy, comfortable and holds lots of cargo. The one drawback is that it doesn’t get good gas mileage. It is better on the highway than in town driving through

We like our 2008 HIghlander

We bought it new and have always had it serviced at the Toyota dealer. Now it has about 90,000 miles on it. It's had a couple of problems along the way that were covered by the vehicle warranty.

2008 Highlander

Best, most pleasant auto I've ever owned. Only lacks the ability to do what my 1991 Toyota pick up is able to do with no apparent problems. This is a presumption on my part, for I've never tried to take the Highlander where I have been able to take my truck. The Highlander seemed too vulnerable for that. So, leaves me in the uncomfortable place of owning 2 vehicles, one of which is really nice to drive; other, capable of use where I occasionally need it. What I really need is a Toyota vehicle that is capable of doing both.

Comparison of Highlander to previously owned SUVs

I am 74. I have owned SUVs since I was 24. On average I keep them 13 years each. None of them were terrible. The Highlander raised my expectations a lot. It is the best engine, best assembled, best paint, most comfortable. It does not have quite the grip of full time 4WD but it does very well. I am frequently on graveled or snowy mountain roads. I miss the reverse gear which slows the vehicle while backing downhill. I will likely keep it another 8 years.

The Best Car I Have Owned

I had 21 "new" cars until I bought my wife a 1996 "pre-owned" Toyota Camry XLE. It was such a good car that I decided to buy a "pre-owned" 2004 Toyota Highlander. It was just excellent. When I decided to sell it the first person who looked at it bought it from me for my asking price. Next I found this 2008 Toyota Highlander Limited with a little over 42,000 miles on it in 2011. It is my third "pre-owned" Toyota and now has more than 87,000 miles so far. All three Toyotas have been excellent cars The 2008 is loaded with options and luxury items. I would buy another when needed, but I will be looking to buy "pre-owned".
