Not able to change the license plate

These vehicles are designed to be driven into the ground. However they have poor engineering to allow routine vehicle maintenance (1) License plate bolts are not stainless steel so rust. To remove the license plate bolt if it breaks off (which it will after rusting) requires a blow torch and removal of the inside of the hatch (2) premium air filters (STP) cannot be used because they don't fit. Buy the cheap one and it goes in easy peasy (3) changing headlight bulbs is difficult and can be dangerous (4) changing the rear light (rear-ended) requires removing the hatch seal which as it ages is more brittle and difficult to get back and keep in place

Decent SUV with its share of troubles

Highlander is considered the best midsize SUV on the market. While there is a lot of positives going for it I found several things that made me decide nit to get another one next. First of all is woeful fuel economy, I drive highwats a lot and it is still often less tha 16mpg - no good, second is terribke brakes that perform very bad is wet weather. Even after I changed tires and rotors the performance is marginally better and it take a mile to stop. Tiny and crappy nav screen really sucks. Oh and the quality of the interior with little things breaking here and there is just final nail in this coffin. Not goid enough Toyota!

The perfect car if it was more gas efficient

I love everything about this car except the mileage. It runs well, it durable, it hauls, it's comfortable, it has plenty of seating, it's versatile, it has great features, it looks good....but it guzzles gas.

Love it, but disappointed ?

Next to my Ford Explorer that was totaled, my Highlander is my most favorite vehicle for comfort and functionality. Even after 100,000 miles it still feels good driving it. The disappointment comes in that it has started burning oil like crazy and after taking to our trusted mechanic to find out why I found out Toyota had a faulty design in this particular engine (I have a 4cyl) and they have even had a class action law suit filed against them for it. I am now faced with either putting in a new engine or getting another vehicle. ?

Sure wish I could use the cargo area!

The rear hatch does not open consistently. I currently have a new microwave in the cargo area and the rear hatch will not open. It has occurred a number of times before. I will take the vehicle to the dealer AGAIN to gain access to the microwavel. Other than the rear hatch, the vehicle is reliable, sporty and comfortable.

Great car, no issues for the last 7 years

Very happy with my car, have great mechnical shop that take good care of my Highlander. Very Reliable & easy to drive. Great for traveling with enough space for luggage. 7 passengers seat makes it easy to have family and friends comfortable for traveling.

Roomy, quiet and comfortable.

From the day I purchased this vehicle I loved the smooth ride it offered. I had ridden in other SUV's and this one definitely stood. Have taken several long trips and always arrive without the former body fatigue.

2013 Highlander

I love my Highlander and have not had any recalls or repair needs. I would buy it again, and I would consider upgrading to a hybrid. It has all the cargo room I need, and I couldn't fit a larger car into my garage.

My 2013 Highlander

I am very pleased with this automobile, it is handsome, reliable, runs so smooth that sometimes I have had to get back to the car and turn off the engine after parking it. It runs so quiet it is easy to leave running.

2013 toyota highlander limited

I totally LOVE this car - it's the best car I've ever owned! Between the remote start, push button start, sun roof, navigation, heated seats, push button lift gate, Sirus and the features go on and on.....I LOVE it!!!

It's the only vehicle I will drive.

Feels like a million bucks and looks even better. The books help when I forget something and are so easy to use. Drives like a dream.

Love my Highlander

Nothing to complain about. It's roomy, comfortable and a nice car to drive. Passengers are very comfortable. Room for the dog, luggage and passengers OR just the two of us.

Love this car!

This is our second Highlander. They are great riding vehicles. We have had low or no maintenance on either one and we put a lot of miles on our cars. We average about 23K per year. Gas mileage is on average about 25mpg. There is plenty of room in each seat unless you use the 3rd row seat. That only allows for small children and is not easy to get them into or out of. Don't recommend using that seat at all. There is plenty of room for packing your family outing or grocery items. The car handles very well. Can come with enough gadgets for most people needing those things and maybe too many for those who just want a plain cockpit area. Was thinking of getting our 3rd Highlander but don't like the body style this year so will wait to see what next year brings or just keep this one till it gives up the ghost which should be several years if it keeps going like it has.
