A nice car with lots of premium features, but has some nuances
Overall, the 2025 Hyundai Sonata is a solid value, especially considering the amount of technology and safety features included at its price point. The advanced safety systems are impressive and make daily driving feel confident and well-supported, particularly with features like lane assist, adaptive cruise control, and collision avoidance.
The ride is comfortable for everyday commuting, and the cabin is noticeably quiet, even at highway speeds. Hyundai did a nice job with noise insulation, making the Sonata feel more refined than you might expect for the class.
That said, there are a few drawbacks. The seats, while fine for shorter trips, can become uncomfortable on longer road trips and could use better long-distance support. The engine also feels a bit underpowered, especially when merging or passing, and the transmission occasionally seems unsure of which gear it wants to be in during acceleration, which can make the driving experience feel less smooth than it should.
All things considered, the Sonata is a good choice for someone looking for a safe, comfortable, and well-equipped sedan, as long as outright performance and long-haul seat comfort aren’t top priorities.
