Breaking system locked up feeling less comfortable
I really like many things about my 2026 Hyundai Tucson. It's comfortable, has a nice interior, and has been enjoyable to drive overall.
Unfortunately, I was involved in a rear-end accident after another vehicle cut me off. My Tucson's safety system appeared to brake very aggressively and the vehicle seemed to freeze, leaving me unable to react the way I expected. The driver behind me then hit my vehicle, resulting in quite a bit of damage.
I appreciate that Hyundai includes advanced safety features, but they need to be better balanced so they don't create hazardous situations. If this behavior is related to a known recall or software issue, I hope Hyundai addresses it quickly.
Overall, I still think the Tucson is a good vehicle, but this experience has made me less confident in how the automatic braking system performs in real-world traffic. That's why I'm giving it 3 out of 5 stars I am not exactly sure how to rate it, everything is great except then it seemed to
Lock up. It’s in the shop getting repaired I don’t think i will ever use the safety feature again.
