My Hyundai Elantra

I am so happy so far with this car, gas mileage is good, runs good, and it's pretty quite, the leather seats have broken in well for a more comfortable ride, and when I need it to go it does, I couldn't ask for more of a smaller vehicle, I would recommend to anyone looking for a good ride in a reliable car!

Our 5th Hyundai second Elantra

Overall the vehicle is ok. I'm not a fan of their navigation system and I think their quality has gone downhill the last few years. I'm also not a fan of the turn ratio it's hard to see how sharp of a turn you should make and it's hard not to miss hitting the curbs when turning right. not good for the wheels our the car.

A Solid Reliable and Stylish Sedan

Very competent family sedan with aerodynamic styling and a good value. Very high build quality - zero defects at delivery. Very reliable - only oil changes and tire rotations for first 2½ years of ownership. Great gas mileage - about 35-37 MPG on average combined hwy/city. Spacious interior for a compact with plenty of leg room and head room. Controls are all intuitive. Love my autodimming mirror with homelink (option). Need to watch blind spot due to front roof pillars. Steering wheel controls are handy because it's a bit of a reach for the far side radio controls. Bluetooth works well. Backup camera was a welcome addition (my daughter drives a 2013 without it and you're always guessing about where the end of the car is). Ease of going into manual mode is also welcome as sometime transmission fails to downshift enough when encountering moderate slopes or hills. Road noise is average for this class of automobile - might improve with better tires (Hankook 426 were standard)

2014 Hyundai Elantra

2014 Hyundai Elantra is excellent on gas mileage, very, very low maintenance, and is sporty enough for my young adults. This model is slow from starting, speed does accelerate, otherwise an excellent smaller vehicle.

Design flaw

Design of the key fob is seriously flawed. Attachment of other keys are made to the ring that is in the key for the Elantra. This key is easily removed from the fob by pushing a button on the fob. I have discovered the Elantra key removed from the fob while in my pocket many times. In addition I have lost the fob twice and was lucky to have it turned in by other people. The ring that other keys are attached should be part of the fob instead of the Elantra key. This is a very disturbing flaw.
