Not what I expected

A few problems. 1st I can't seem to fill the gas tank all the way up. Dealer says it's because of the wheather. 2nd car makes a strame noise that everyone but the dealer can hear. 3 car has 4 exhaust tips but only one pipe from the engine. Should be 2 I think 3 seat belts a little hard to buckle. These are the only complaints I have.

Vehicle satisfaction

As a whole, I like the car but on occasion when starting from a dead stop it will hesitate 2-3 seconds before it will accelerate. This can be dangerous when pulling into moving traffic.

Solid except wind noise poor voice recognition

Good car in terms of performance . However it is not as tight as it should be. Wind noise is excessive. Voice recognition system is so poor it is not usable.

Hyundai rhymes with OK!

I like the style and ride of the car, however I am not sold on the mechanical side of things, a few issues in the first 20K that should not have taken place and I not impressed with Hyundai's "world" class best warranty. A huge item not covered costing thousands and really was not operator error, please at all cost keep your maintenance records, you will be sorry if you don't!

Great car except for 2 things...

Love everything about the car but the front suspension and the engine. Suspension is sloppy on rough/uneven pavement. Engine is grossly under-powered for a car this heavy. Should have a 6 cylinder available. Will not buy another Sonata with a 4 cylinder engine.

Feels heavy when turning and stopping...air conditioner just not blowing cool enough...makes a winding noise when going up hills...had it all checked they say its normal

It's okay

There is nothing wrong with this car. Unfortunately, there is nothing really right or exciting about it either. I traded the 2012 Sonata for this, and I like that body style much better. I wish I could get my 2012 back. I also paid WAY too much due to a lot of double talk from a salesperson. Ultimately that's my own fault, but I wish I had a do-over. I do like the advanced safety features on this car. They're excellent.

Mechanically good, but not comfortable

This is my second Sonata. It's not as comfortable or as practical a car as the 2006. The front doors don't open as wide and it's harder to get in and out. The angle of the back window affected the usefulness of the trunk. The trunk is large, but the opening is much smaller which makes it difficult to put in and take out larger items which is very important to me. The seats aren't comfortable. There's a seam that presses on the back of my leg. Also, instead of being relatively flat, the seats are angled and the level part isn't wide enough for most people. A small child or a very, very thin person may be comfortable. (The seats on the newer Elantras are even worse.) I miss the hook that held the trash bag - there's no convenient place for one - and the power outlet in the trunk. Also, there isn't any kind of spare tire included. I wish I had realized that before buying the car because I would have insisted on at least a donut. I drove coast to coast in the 2006 and was always comfortable. The longest trip I've taken in the 2015 was about 2 hours and it was very uncomfortable. The dash isn't well designed - the clock is very difficult to read.

Hyundai Sonata

I genuinely like the dealership I worked with, Crown Hyundai, however, generally speaking, I have not been happy with my Sonata. I like the look of the car, but I have had to have the seat finishers replaced 3x on my car in 2 years, and my husband has as well. It feels cheaply made for the price of the car.

Good car, but too many recalls

I love the safety features of my car, but 6 recalls in two years is ridiculous. In addition, neither Hyundai or the dealership has been able to correct the constantly squeaking sunroof. The gas mileage has been far below advertised. The road noise is horrible. The entertainment system should be designed to work equally well with apple and android.
