Accent 2014

Very versatile car reliable with great fuel economy. By it size it is very easy to drive since I was accustomed to bigger cars. It basically have all what I consider essential for a ride. The only thing I find a little strange is not bringing a spare tire as standard equipment.

Good car

It’s a great vehicle for students. The gas mileage is amazing and can fit on the right and narrow needs of a college campus. It handles surprisingly well in wet/snow and I have yet to have any major issues with the vehicle and I’ve had it for 5 years and put more than 120,000 miles on it already! It still works almost as new (knock on wood). Only issue I would say is the way it kinda gets knocked around in the wind but that’s just with any small vehicle.

Good for average income

This is great for starters like me that does not have much income but does have busy activities. I drive a lot for work, school and personal. I have my Hyundai Accent 2014 for over 4 years. It is working well. I have only changed my tires, AC filter, and batteries. The only thing in this car is that if you travel often with longer distances, this is not recommended. The accelerator does not work fast when you press it. However, the break is excellent. Exterior materials may not be protective against reckless drivers.

Great car, great mileage

I am very upset and surprised that my car did not come with a spare tire. I had a flat that cost me over $200 for tow, rental and Uber! No one mentioned it to me when I bought it. It’s a great car otherwise! I get good mileage and repairs have been minimal.

Good points: very comfortable, very reliable, very economical (can get 50 mpg at 60mph on limited access level roads, 60 mpg at 50 mph, I average 39-44 mpg in mostly highway driving depending on season in New England), excellent finish, "paddle" gear change, large glovebox, light regular maintenance schedule, cheap (I paid only $7.60) 3rd key, variable intermittent or one swipe windshield wiper. Not so good features: fragile hub covers (plastic, best removed), fragile underneath (too easily fall down or get damaged by rocks etc), cannot open rear windows, rear view (common to modern cars), no dashboard storage effectively (also common in modern cars), only one speed rear wiper (too fast). Rankings below reflect that I never give anything a "10'.

Warranty

I really have enjoyed owning my Hyundai Accent Hatchback, really a fun car to drive. When moving this "little" car really surprised me how much I could load in it. With the back seats that you can drop down you have a lot of room in this little car. My only concern I have is that the 100,000/10 year warranty really doesn't cover everything as you might think. I have had my car just a little over a 5 years and when I took it in for service I asked about the clear coat on my headlights is peeling. I was informed by the Service Department this is NOT covered under warranty but that they could sell me a kit for about $125.00 to use on the headlights that would take care of that problem. Disappointed, everyone raves about the Hyundai Warranty and really one of the reasons I did purchase the vehicle.

Best car for the price

I really do love this car. It came at a slight discount and is a very basic manual transmission with the basic features you need. The hatchback is a nice feature that has helped me move a couple times. My general rule is: less bells and whistles, less maintenance and repair. I've only done basic maintenance and have taken four road trips to the east coast with zero problems and great gas mileage.

great little car

great little car. love the cd player. i pray they keep it for the next model. the back folding seats should be reversed. the smaller seat should be on the drivers side. wish it had a roof rack with cross bars. also wish it was 4 wheel drive. great mileage. lots of room. if it comes with a cd player, roof rack and cross bars along with all wheel drive in the next model. this will be my next car. had a problem with the radio and something els. all covered but still. still a nice car.

I lie, I do have one, that you've discontinued the 5 door, hatchback model! Guess I'll be keeping this one awhile longer. The suspension is also rather jarring.Apart from that I'm extremely happy with this car, vastly improved over some of the early years.

I'm sorry to hear that Hyundai has quit making the Accent hatchback.

An all around great car for the money, although at this time it is burning way too much oil. I'm in the process of having the car evaluated at this time with it being checked four times at 500 mile intervals. I was told that, if this test shows that the oil consumption is excessive that the motor will be replaced since it is still under warranty. I had previously leased a 2012 model and I LIKED IT SO Well I decided to get the 2014, same color and everything. It'seems been great also until this oil consumption problem came up.

Driving my 2014 Hyundai Accent SE

The car is easy to handel whether I driving on the interstate or in busy city traffic. I also am impressed with the low cost maintenance. It is not so much fun to drive on old country gravel roads. But, I live in the city. So, no problems there. Also like all the safety features and all the wifi options. Great little car!

Paint flakes

The green paint flakes off. Not covered under warranty apparently. Other than that, the car drives nicely. It handles well. The shifter (mine's a manual) is positive and engaging. The clutch has a nice take up. There's a good amount of room The radio controls are not entirely intuitive. The front wheel bearings went south at 80,000 miles. It got loud and expensive. I probably will be going back to Japanese manufacturers because the quality is a bit higher.

6 years with our Hyundai Accent sdan

WE purchased the Accent soon after the model/styling change in 2014..to replace our 2009 Accent. It was to be our driver 'around town' since we had a 2012 Sonata we preferred on the road. Soon thereafter we sold the Sonata to our daughter and bought a pickup truck, with which we planned to haul our new camper. The Accent took on more work, and was up to the task fully...including trips to E TN and a couple even to FL, since 2017. It runs fine and gets great mileage, ..even up to 45 mpg if I am careful!. We had to take it into & leave it the Hyundai shop for repair of the AC compressor in 2016, which was fully covered under warrantee. [WE did purchase the 100% bumper-to-bumper warrantee when we bought the vehicle]. AS it turned out Hyundai had trouble finding the apparently odd parts, so we were driving a new 'loaner' Ram 4x4 pickup free ...for 3 weeks! WE really appreciated the 'loaner'. That problem with the AC BTW is the only problem we've had in 6 years..and ~ 53000 miles, and we plan to keep the Accent another 2-3 years, or so.. It is as dependable as we expected. If I had it to do over, I would have ordered the vehicle with Cruise Control, though I really do not recall IF CC was even available in 2014! .I didn't give it 5 stars only bks it does not have cruise control, tho that is not the fault of the car!!

Great little economy car

Great car for my 150 miles a day commute to work. I can't believe the mileage I get when on the highway commute. Over 42 mile per gallon. More than expected. Could use an extra armrest up front though.

Sporty Sedan

Love this model, it is very sporty looking, much more that the hatch back that I had before. It seems to be much larger inside and longer and sleeker outside. My salesman, Bill Parente picked it out for me and I could not be more pleased, he did a great job. I have had many compliments on the car. It's ride is smooth for a small car but it has a lot of "get up and go".........I am enjoying it very much. By the way, the color is white and her name is "Snow"! Lin O

Love my Accent Hatchback

This car handles well and is comfortable. My mileage often exceeds the sticker mileage but I usually get between 35 and 36 in combined driving. Lots of pluses and only a few minuses. Acceleration at low speeds is not real smooth but when I need quick acceleration, it doesn't let me down. My previous vehicle had better visibility for being aware of what was immediately around the vehicle. It took some time but now I am very comfortable with being able to see what is around me when backing up and changing lanes. The stock driver armrest is too narrow so I don't even use it. I'm used to that now so I don't miss it. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.
