Nice looking car, but has its issues

had it in the shop for over three weeks, and was very close to lemon law status. Replaced transmission after only 30k miles. Even now I really don’t like the transmission, it’s very laggy and whiney. Brakes and rotors went bad after 8k miles. Driver eye tracking doesn’t work with polarized sunglasses, so can’t use cruise control while driving during the day. Aside that it looks nice and rides smooth. Not keeping the car for long.

Does everything I need it too

This version has more power than my previous Santa Fe, the new dash layout is awesome and it feels roomy without needing a large vehicle.

What I like and I don’t like

I like my car but it’s little things that I don’t like, like I wish the 2 row had air/heat control panels and wish the screen was bigger and wish the sunroof was just 1 and not a sunroof and moon roof. And I wish the dealership was better with custom service with they customers

Poor quality control

3+ trips to the dealer for battery drain issues that couldn’t be diagnosed. Four trips to the dealer for transmission issues which ultimately led to a new transmission. Completely unacceptable for a new vehicle at this price point. And absolutely no feedback or apologies. From Hyundai for the issues. All of this when the car was less than a year old and under 10,000 miles.

Not worth the money

I have a 2024 XRT model and have had nothing but issues from the very beginning. Vehicles was back at the dealership for two weeks after purchasing for issues. Also they never disclosed that the 2024 Santa Fe”s have small dents on both sides that go along the doors.

Love/Hate

Looks great, ride is great, storage is great. Learning curve necessary to use all features. Happa (needing to take a break warning), will give warning when wearing reflective sunglasses, annoying because if it senses that you are not looking (even when you are) it will disconnect auto cruise. cannot turn off happa warnings even after disabling them. Hyundai support could not figure out how to do this also. Annoying because if it senses that you are not looking (even when you are) it will disconnect auto cruise.
